The preliminary task that we did was a simple use of close-ups to highlight different actions and emotions of the different characters. I used continuity editing to create the effect of an uninterrupted flow from different shots which means that I did not use any transitions just jump cuts for example when the character opens the door the timing of the cutting of the scenes has to be right otherwise the character would be seen as opening the door twice.
The 180 Degree Rule
The 180 Degree is a rule stating that a camera should be placed somewhere inside 180 degrees on a particular side of the invisible line of a shot containing two people filmed in sequence. If the camera crosses the line, confusion results for the film viewers, because it makes it look like the people are switching places as one watches the film to make it look more ordinary.
Shot Reverse Shot
The use of shot reverse shot was also shown to show that it is a useful technique. This is used to show the action of the conversation to make the viewer feel much more closer to the action of the video. This enables the viewer to see the mood and expressions of the characters and to keep up with the conversation and would help the viewer familiarize with the characters. Analyzing other video's such as soap operas this similar techniques are frequently used in this type of industry.
